Biobank of tissue, blood, stool, and clinical data associated for research purposes on primary cancers and lung metastases, Canada
Objective: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide. In fact, lung cancer is responsible for 1.59 million deaths annually, despite the treatments currently available. Researchers interested in this area are working to improve current knowledge, treatment and patient care. The purpose of this biobank is to enable researchers to use banked tissue, blood, and stool samples as well as their corresponding clinical data to carry out lung tumor research projects to better understand pathologies and improve overall healthcare of patients who suffer from it. In addition, researchers will try to better understand the link between the microbiota (all bacteria present in your digestive tract) and the response to cancer treatments. On the other hand, this biobank could be used for teaching purposes or evaluation of clinical practices.
