Biobank Graz, Austria

Registration Status: Pending

Objective: Biobank Graz comprises both population-based and disease-focused collections of biological materials (e.g. FFPE and cryo tissue, blood, urine). Biobank Graz pursues the aim of continuously improving the quality of collected samples and data and orients itself towards the standards and guidelines published by WHO / IARC or ISBER. Terms of collection and transport as well as processing times are documented for every single sample. A management system in accordance with EN/ISO 9001:2008 guarantees highly standardized and quality assured sample handling. Continuous direct sample identification by 2D barcode systems precludes sample mix-up. Storage systems are interlinked to a central alarm system and round the clock technical services are available to perform necessary repairs.
