The Canadian Lipoprotein (a) Registry: a prospective multisite observational study to optimize the care of patients with inherited risk of cardiovascular disease, Canada

Registration Status: Pending

Objective: Lp(a) Registry is designed as a biobank focused on prospective, longitudinal study of patients with elevated Lp(a) levels and assessing their co-existing cardiovascular risk factors and their management. The ultimate goal of the registry is to understand the characteristics, patterns of treatment, and clinical outcomes, and determinants of risk of Canadian patients with elevated Lp(a). Participants will be recruited at 3 centers, with Healthy Heart Program at St. Pauls Hospital, Vancouver as main center; the other 2 centers are cardiac Clinics also located in Vancouver. Once, Registry is established here in BC, the other centers across BC and Canada will join. Participants will be enrolled in the study indefinitely and therefore data collected longitudinally coincide with clinically-indicated visits. Clinical data, laboratory results, cardiovascular events and imaging data will be collected.
