Objective: The Canadian Longitudinal Study (CLSA) is a research platform to enable state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary population-based research and evidenced-based decision-making that will lead to better health and quality of life for Canadians. The study has enrolled 50,000 participants aged 45-85 at baseline across the country. Blood and urine are collected on 30,000 participants every three years beginning in 2012. The CLSA is a strategic initiative of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Support for the CLSA has been provided by the Government of Canada through the CIHR and the Canada Foundation for Innovation.
