Manitoba Tomorrow Project, Canada
Objective: The Manitoba Tomorrow Project (MTP) is a population-based prospective cohort designed to serve as a research platform to examine the interplay between genetic, environmental, and behavioural factors that contribute to the development of cancer and other chronic disease in Manitobans. The MTP is part of the pan-Canadian initiative known as the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow’s Health (CanPath), representing Manitoba as one of seven regional cohorts. Using a nationally harmonized Core Questionnaire participants have provided information on their health and lifestyle. Many of which have also attended appointments where objective measurements of anthropometrics, blood pressure, heart rate, and grip strength were collected. Through associations with CancerCare Manitoba, CanPath, and data linkages, the MTP is a uniquely positioned cancer and chronic disease research platform.
