Objective: The Ontario Health Study is a population-based health cohort study that serves as a platform for investigating a variety of environmental, lifestyle, molecular, clinical and genetic factors associated with risks of cancer, vascular diseases, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. In general, the Ontario Health Study will: • Serve as a resource for conducting data- and biospecimen-based investigations of environmental, lifestyle, clinical, molecular, and genetic factors associated with cancer and other chronic diseases; • Serve as a resource for conducting health services research; • Harmonize and collaborate with national (e.g., other provincial cohorts participating in the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project, www.partnershipagainstcancer.ca) and international initiatives (e.g., the National Cancer Institute Cohort Consortium).
