Objective: The BC Cancer Agency Tumor Tissue Repository (TTR) is a provincial program established by the BC Cancer Agency which provides cancer care for the 4.3 million population of British Columbia, Canada. The TTR program comprises framework initiatives (national and provincial), research biobanking support for specific affiliated projects and provincial BCCA affiliated biobanks, and a core TTR biobank with primary accrual and biospecimen processing and storage laboratory site at the BCCA Vancouver Island Center, Victoria, and a database core located at the BCCA Vancouver Center, Vancouver. The goal of this biobank program is to collect biospecimens and health data from consenting donors in BC and to process, annotate, and provide these materials to support a spectrum of cancer research, including biomarker discovery and validation, and to promote the development of targeted cancer therapies.
