FRSQ-RRCancer - biobanque des tumeurs ovariennes, Canada

Certification Status: Approved
Registration Status: Completed

Objective: This biobank is focused on the collection of ovarian cancer clinical samples (lymphocyte DNA, frozen and fixed tissue samples, primary cultures, ascites), as part of the the FRSQ - Réseau de recherche sur le cancer (RRCancer) research activities. The FRSQ-RRCancer has created an infrastructure that supports the ongoing ovarian cancer research in the province of Québec, as well as supporting pilot projects for new and innovative research strategies. The collaborations fostered by the RRCancer have shown synergistic effects on the pace and scope of ovarian cancer research in Québec. The ovarian initiative was among the first to be supported by the FRSQ-RRCancer because of the strong research base and collaboration already in place. The key activities are tumour banks and the services that support large scale research in genomics and proteomics.
