Objective: Every year, about 3000 canadians receive a diagnosis of primary CNS tumor, of which gliomas are the majority. Other primary CNS tumors include meningiomas, neuronal tumors, embryonal tumors and pineal region tumors. In adults, the vast majority of gliomas are malignant and incurable. To better understand these tumors, their molecular-genetic basis, their behavior and their response to treatment, and ultimately to provided improved care to patients, this biobank has been created.
