Objective: The Busselton Health Study is a long-term, on-going health cohort study of residents of the Western Australian city of Busselton. The health research conducted by the Busselton Population Medical Research Institute aims for a better understanding and management of health. Research activities are diverse and encompass a wide range of health conditions and measures include sleep disorders, respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, genetics, cognition, physical function, bone density, eyes and hearing. The Busselton Health Study manages a valuable database and biobank with samples dated back to 1966. The biobank provides a unique and valuable resource for medical researchers. The institute works collaboratively with leading local, national and international researchers on medical and population health studies and projects.
