Objective: The establishment of the Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Institute (GBAICTI) at Lok Ma Chau Loop is pivotal in positioning Hong Kong as a prominent hub for health and medical innovation. This initiative will generate a significant demand for biobanking services that adhere to global standards, serving the varied research entities attracted from around the world. As part of the Health Bureau's directive, the Hospital Authority (HA) collaborates with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to establish a biobank at the GBAICTI. The GBAICTI Biobank aims to provide a diverse range of well-preserved human biological materials with detailed annotations to meet the research requirements of various groups in the region, thereby supporting medical research in the Greater Bay Area.
